Seed-to-Seedling transmission of Alternaria brassiciola in broccoli. To the image on the left, we have our control treatment (seed lot) where our post doc Dr. Navjot Kaur inoculated the seeds with sterile water. After one to two weeks, you can see that there are no diseases present in control treatment. For the image on the right Dr. Kaur inoculated seeds with A. brassicicola. This experiment demonstrated that 100% of the seed lots transmitted the pathogen to broccoli seedlings.
